2020 Spring Bike to Work & School Week is May 25-31!

GoByBike BC Society is currently building a new website and online registration and reporting system with a goal of launching April 23, 2020. Special Thanks to the Province of BC, Ministry of Transportation; and Big Bear Software for sponsoring this project.  Please follow us on social media to stay updated on the progress, and to see when registration opens for 2020 for Bike to Work & School Week.

Cycling Salt Spring presents a series of events for GoByBike Autumn 2019 -- Log your trips October 21 through November 3rd, 2019 to win prizes.

Bike-to-Vote! Monday October 21 - Remember to log your trips!

Bike-to-Café! Friday October 25 - Meet at 3.30 by the Fernwood Café for a Hallowe’en Family Ride. We’ll take a costumed bicycle ride along Walker’s Hook followed by a free hot chocolate! Prizes for Best Costume.

Get ready, get set, and register again for Bike-to-Work Week 2019, this year running from Monday, May 27th to Sunday, June 2nd. 

On Salt Spring Island, we've organised free breakfast stations to make cycling to work and school more fun, these include Monday at Islands Trust (8-9:30am, 500 Lower Ganges Rd), Tuesday at Salt Spring Elementary (7:45-8:25am), Wednesday at Fernwood School (7:45-8:25am), and Outspokin Bikes on Saturday (9:30-11am, 131 McPhillips). 

Bike-to-School events will include free tune-ups, a bike circuit, helmet sales & bike safety swag.

We had so much fun this morning at Salt Spring Elementary, where probably about 40 students brought bicycles or scooters to school and enjoyed snacks, stuck stickers on their helmets, got free bike tune-ups from Sean at Outspokin Bikes, and cruised the cone course on the playground. They can't get enough of the playground loop and go around and around... Afterwards, we decided that next year, we'll focus on school events all week and spread them around the island. Thank you to all who helped!
